Attention: Marital & Family Law Section Members

Judge Lynn Tepper has supplied the Family Law Section with a link to a resource on Domestic Violence. See the link below to download in the email from Barbara Hart and download and save a PDF in the email below.

Subject: Link to Lawyer's Manual on Domestic Violence - 6th edition

This is the finest Manual in the field of Domestic Violence I have ever seen.  It has simple guides & chapters throughout it & the Appendix that will  aide virtually anyone: attorneys- including prosecutors, defense, marital & dependency law, immigration; law enforcement; therapist; victim service providers; offender service providers; service providers of those with disabilities.

I have heard a number of the authors/contributors over the years. They are the best of the best in the US. I urge you to put it on your computer  desktop [at over 400 pages, not an ideal download], skim through it, refer to it, share it, teach it, learn from it.

SAVE LIVES. CHANGE LIVES. CHANGE OUTCOMES.

Subject: Link to Lawyer's Manual on Domestic Violence - 6th edition

The New York State Judicial Committee on Women in the Courts has produced a revision of Lawyer’s Manual on Domestic Violence, edited by Mary Rothwell Davis, Dorchen A. Leidholdt, and Charlotte A. Watson.  This 6th Edition marks the 20thanniversary of publication.  The last edition was published in 2006, and much has changed over the last ten years in the area of domestic violence.

The content is an unofficial text and represents the views of the contributors.  It does not necessarily reflect the views of the US Dept. of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women, the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, the New York State Unified Court System, the Committee, or any New York State Judge.

The volume is available online at http://www.nycourts.gov/ip/womeninthecourts/pdfs/DV-Lawyers-Manual-Book.pdf.
