FREE CLE Program: Family Time Visitation Why It's Worth All the Effort The quality and quantity of visitation/parenting time increases the likelihood of permanency and the well being of the child. Research shows that frequent visitation promotes reunification by providing an opportunity to heal damaged or unhealthy relationships. The Program: Judge Lynn Tepper and Dr. Mimi Graham will discuss quality and frequency of parenting time and strategies for promotion successful visits. Dr. Graham will present the research on attachment and the effects of separation on young children, in addition to the developmental considerations for visits and how to interpret children's behaviors. Judge Tepper will share strategies for engaging parents, coaching for skill building, safety considerations, overcoming logistical obstacles, incremental increases in frequency and implementing a successful visitation plan. Target Audience: This presentation will be valuable for judges and magistrates who hear dependency and family cases, court staff, child protective investigators, dependency case managers, supervisors, attorneys in both dependency and family law, Guardian Ad Litem staff and volunteers, and foster parent/caregivers.
