Annual Scholarships for Pinellas County High School Students
$1000 YLS Essay Scholarship
- The St. Petersburg Bar Association awards the Young Lawyers Section Scholarship to a graduating high school senior attending a Pinellas County Public or Private or Home School Program. All applications should be submitted to the Law Day Committee Chairperson - see the information under "Download Forms" on our homepage www.stpetebar.com

The winner will be invited to attend St. Pete Bar Association and Foundation Annual Law Day Luncheon, held in May, where they will be presented with the check.

$500 Judge Roney Scholarship - The Judge Paul H. Roney Essay Scholarship - For high school senior students attending a Pinellas County Public or Private or Home School program. This opportunity is available to any Pinellas County High School Senior to submit an essay of no more than 500 words on the following theme: "What the Law Means to Me.” All essays should be submitted to the Law Day Committee Chairperson. SELF HELP CENTERS: Affordable legal services for those who do not qualify for free help, but cannot afford an attorney.
ABOUT THE SELF HELP CENTERS: The Self Help Centers are the result of a collaborative effort between the Clerk's Office, the Sixth Judical Circuit, the Community Law Progam and the Clearwater Bar Association.
The purpose of the Clerk's legal Self Help Centers is to assist Pinellas County citizens representing themselves in court (sometimes referred to as pro se persons) who do NOT have a private attorney. Pinellas County citizens who represent themselves in court and do not already have a private attorney representing them, can now get affordable legal assistance on a limited number of legal issues in the areas of Family Law, Landlord-Tenant issues and Small Claims.
