Do You Need Mental Health or Substance Abuse Support? Consider Florida Lawyers Assistance (FLA)
What is Florida Lawyers Assistance, Inc.?
FLA is a non-profit corporation formed in 1986 per the Florida Supreme Court’s mandate that a program be created to assist bar members suffering from substance abuse, mental health, or other disorders which impact their lives and careers. Though underwritten by the Florida Bar, FLA is an independent entity.
What Does Florida Lawyers Assistance, Inc. do?
FLA provides confidential programs and services to attorneys, judges, law students, and other legal professionals whose ability to function in a legal setting may be impaired. The backbone of FLA is its confidential support network of recovering attorneys and judges who carry the message of hope and recovery to fellow members of the legal community. FLA also helps those legal professionals suffering from anxiety, depression, and mental illness. Though not a 12-Step or treatment program, counseling center, employment agency, legal referral center, or employee assistance program, these services can be accessed through FLA's resources. All FLA programs and services are confidential.
