The St. Petersburg Bar Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, which encourages charitable gifts from individuals, foundations, law firms and corporations. Major gifts, planned gifts and annual donations are also welcome in support of the Foundation's mission and special projects.

The THOMAS E. PENICK, JR. AWARD FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE was established by the St. Pete Bar Association in 2001. The award honors the contributions made to our community by Circuit Court Judge Thomas E. Penick. The award, which consists of $250.00 and an engraved plaque, is given to a graduating senior at Stetson University College of Law who exemplifies community service. The award, is presented during the Honors and Awards Ceremonies held during May and December.

JUDGE PAUL H. RONEY LAW DAY ESSAY CONTEST - Each year, high school seniors are invited to participate in an essay contest that has been named in honor of the late Judge Paul H. Roney, U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit. Students submit written essays that are centered on the theme of Law Day for that particular year and are judged on creativity and overall content. The essay contest winner is presented with a $500.00 College Scholarship at the annual Law Day Luncheon.

The JUDGE FRANK H. WHITE DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP is the largest single annual scholarship ($2,500.00) given to a minority student at Stetson University College of Law. The scholarship was created in 2001 by the St Petersburg Bar Association and is funded through the generous donations of our members.

The JOYCE ANN NELLE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP is awarded annually to a student attending the Legal Assistant Program at St. Petersburg College. This $1000 scholarship will recognize a deserving student with superior work ethic, personal morals and aspirations to advance professionalism in the legal assistant field, and who is active in helping to make our community a better place to live.

Holidays in July, a project of the Young Lawyers Section, provides children in challenging situations, often in foster care as a result of abuse or neglect, the opportunity for a day of fun, including: bowling, presents, lunch and a visit from Santa. A Gold Sponsorship is $500 and a Silver Sponsorships is $350. Donations for any amount are accepted and will be used for event expenses and the purchase of toys for ages - newborn to 18 years old.
